STEP 1

Identify Problem Statement

The biggest problem is most apps that allow file sharing feature doesn't address the use-case of sharing files as a host within a given geographical location in a given time.

In this digital age, we share files daily basis among different types of users. It could be in a conference to access files pointed out by the speaker, download employer-related documents in a job fair before submitting your resume, download lecture related documents in the classroom during a lecture session.

STEP 2

Design Process

Why did I choose Double diamond design methodology to approach this problem statement?

According to British Design Council "Double diamond design methodology helps designers and non-designers across the globe tackle some of the most complex social, economic and environmental problems. The two diamonds represent a process of exploring an issue more widely or deeply (divergent thinking) and then taking focused action (convergent thinking)."

STEP 3

Approach

During the define phase, Team and I had to provide consultations to the customer benefits about MVP ( Minimal viable product ). Scroll through the phases of the product Development in the bellow.

With the help of Xicigny team, I've walkthrough UX process with fundamental expertise, eliminating the superfluous and primarily addressing the customer's business need.

STEP 4

Design - User flow

There are many different pathways a user can take when interacting with a product. A user flow is a visual representation, either written out or made digitally, of the many avenues that can be taken when using the app or website. As demonstration purposes, I will show you the onboarding flow.

STEP 5

Design - Information Architecture

Similar to the class diagram / Object diagram, I have created Information Architecture to organize data fields much more logical way that captured from the User flow diagram. Such an organization follows a clear purpose of helping developer/tech lead to create data modal diagrams from their end.

STEP 6

Paper prototyping

They are typically concept sketches, a set of drawings or storyboard, representing the basic ideal skeleton of the interface. The next level up is a low fidelity wireframe. Low fidelity wireframes include the most basic content and visual and are usually static.

STEP 7

Wireframes

So at this stage, I got all the requirements. After showing the paper sketches to the stakeholder I got approval from them. Then it was easier for me to prepare Lofi Wireframes ( Blueprint ) of the app. Step by step I started creating a basic structure for the design adding data that I collected from information architecture. On this level, I started converting all the components to symbols.

STEP 8

Visual Identification and Design system creation

Visual Identity is an important element that helps products stand out in this highly competitive market. My working process always starts with an evaluation of the product’s bits and pieces that I’ve talked about earlier. As a designer, I want to feel knowledgable about the business and product by studying these materials. That way, you can confidently create a compelling image at the end.

Considering a product’s platform, desktop/mobile. It will affect visual constituent, that is the core DNA, and user experience. I used to design systems in the context of the product’s development so I could reuse similar components throughout web/mobile doing a minor change.

I have an updated design system with visual assets colors, fonts, icons, illustrations, and others to preserve a unique product style. Apply elements of visual identity where there needs a user’s attention.

STEP 9

Designer Hand off

Context is a powerful thing. When handing off designs you need to provide information to help your team succeed. To make sure everyone is on the page, I’ve found it helpful to have a handoff meeting to do the following,

Provide background on the project

Walk through the design system and prototype

Briefly explain the design documentation

Touch on how success will be measured

Clarify timeline and set project milestones/goals

Stay approachable with developers
